CHESTERTOWN — Nominations are open for the Special Education Citizens' Advisory Committee annual awards.
The ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 at Kent County Middle School. Dinner and childcare will be available at 5 p.m.
As part of the celebration, the committee is asking parents or guardians to nominate a Kent County Public Schools employees who have made a positive impact on students receiving special education or related services.
"We will be honoring those who go above and beyond what is typical and expected to positively impact and set a standard of excellence for the success of students with disabilities," said Elizabeth Tussing, who chairs the committee.
The deadline to cast a nomination is Friday, May 17.
The May 29 ceremony and committee meeting will also include an update on special education in Kent County Public Schools and a review of new legislation that has recently passed.
Kent County Middle School is located at 402 E. Campus Ave., Chestertown.
